YouTube Shorts from your stream, in facecam layouts
Pick the moments, choose a layout, and Sucia Studio turns them into vertical 1080x1920 Shorts with captions from the transcript, a hook line at the start and your channel's card at the end. The preview is drawn by the same code as the export, so what you see is what you get.
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, or 64-bit Linux. Sucia Studio installs and updates through the Sucia app, with a free Sucia account. 14-day free trial, no card.
Seven layouts for gameplay and a facecam
Blurred background puts the game across the frame over a blurred, darkened copy of itself. Camera on top and Game on top stack the two; Camera in a corner and Circle camera keep the game large and your face small; Game only leaves the camera out; and Split 50/50 gives each one half of the screen.
Draw the game box and the camera box once on a frame of the recording, and every Short from that recording uses them.
Captions and a hook that stay clear of your face
Captions come from the transcript, so there is nothing to type: short cues in a box that reads on a phone, with reaction words picked out. Each Short gets a hook line of three to seven words for its first two seconds and a subscribe card with your channel's name for its last three. In the layouts with a camera, the captions and the hook are moved off the camera by default.
Find the moments worth a Short
Shorts start from the same work as the main video. The Picks tab ranks loud stretches, bursts of reaction words, your markers and, when the chat was kept, chat spikes and !clip messages. Put the best ones on the Shorts list in the Story tab, which checks them against your brief: how many Shorts, how long each one is, and that none of them overlap or show what you asked to leave out.
Check them before you post
Before export, the pilots show the first, middle and last Short as frames from their start, middle and end, with a warning when text falls outside the area YouTube Shorts keep clear for their own buttons, sits over a box you marked to keep clear, or the opening frame is too dark. After export, each Short is read back from its file to check that it is complete.
Export every Short at once
Export all Shorts writes every Short on the list in one go. Do everything on the Deliver page goes further: the main video, its check, every Short and the package folder, with each Short in its own folder beside its notes, ready for you to upload. The upload kit holds the title, description, tags and hashtags for the main video, checked against YouTube's limits and copied in one press.
More layouts as add-ons
Shorts layouts also come as add-ons made by Sucia, installed from the Store through the Sucia app or loaded from a file. A layout is data: one to three regions for the game, the camera or a blurred background, with their shapes, borders and where the text goes. Nothing in an add-on runs, so an update cannot break it.
Questions
What size are the Shorts?
1080 by 1920 pixels: the vertical 9:16 picture YouTube Shorts use.
Do I need a facecam?
No. Game only and Blurred background need no camera. With a camera in the picture, draw its box once and the camera layouts use it.
Can I make Shorts from a recording made in OBS?
Yes. Shorts come from any recording Studio opens, including OBS recordings and downloaded VODs, as well as recordings made in Studio.
Does Studio post the Shorts to YouTube for me?
No. Studio writes the files and the words, and you upload them yourself, so nothing leaves your computer until you do.
